Adamsville is located about 15 minutes east of Atlanta in south Fulton County. It is probably best known for being the home of the former Fulton County jail, now a Fulton County Historic Site, and Old Adamsville, a lovely nineteenth-century village located on the site of the original town of Adamsville. Old Adamsville includes an old mill, a log cabin, a church, and a one-room schoolhouse. The site is open to the public. The historic village is located at the corner of Brownlee Road and J.A. Adams Road, off Fairburn Road. The school, at 1711 J.A. Adams Road, is open on the first Saturday of the month. The site is open on the second Saturday of each month. The community is comprised of vintage brick ranch homes and bungalows, with lush, tree-lined streets and bright, well-kept yards.
