Piedmont Heights is a charming and historic neighborhood in Atlanta, GA. It’s located in Atlanta’s Midtown community, and the neighborhood boasts many historic, Victorian-era homes on tree-lined streets. The neighborhood has grown over the years but still remains close-knit.

Piedmont Heights is one of Atlanta’s oldest neighborhoods, located east of downtown and north of Midtown. Its boundaries are Peachtree Street to the north, Boulevard to the south, I-20 to the east, and Edgewood Avenue to the west. Though the neighborhood is hilly, its streets are laid out in a grid. While Piedmont Heights’ two schools, John Marshall and Oakland City, are individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the neighborhood as a whole is designated a historic district. Piedmont Heights is home to a growing number of townhomes and high-rise apartments.

The number of Asians living in Piedmont Heights is also high (14.7 percent), compared to Atlanta’s average of 5.9 percent. The percentage of residents who are divorced or separated.

The Atlanta BeltLine’s first major park is set to open in Piedmont Heights in the next few weeks, the Atlanta BeltLine said in a press release. The park will open with a ribbon-cutting event and a grand opening celebration on Saturday, Sept. 1. The park will feature a children’s play area, food trucks, a fitness station, a dog run, and a plaza. It is located on the north side of Piedmont Avenue, just west of Buchanan Street. The Atlanta BeltLine said that it is providing the park with a tree planting and maintenance program through the Atlanta Parks Foundation.

Atlanta has nightlife. Piedmont Heights is a hotspot for it. This is the neighborhood’s main strip. The businesses are eclectic, with a little bit of everything, including galleries, restaurants, and a movie theater. It’s a bit of a walk from Grant Park, but it’s well worth it. Piedmont Heights is one of Atlanta’s most well-known neighborhoods, and it’s a great place to grab a bite to eat and soak up the evening. The neighborhood is home to several popular restaurants and bars, including one that’s famous for its cocktails. Nestled in the heart of the neighborhood is the Palmetto Lounge and Draught House, which was established in 1965 and is one of the few places in Atlanta where you can enjoy a classic Atlanta-style barbecue.

The land that is now Piedmont Heights was once home to the Creek Indians.
