Abernathy Greenway Park North
The Abernathy Greenway Park North is a 15-acre park located off Abernathy Road in the North Springs neighborhood of Sandy Springs, Atlanta. The park has 30 acres of meadows, meadows, wetlands, hills, a ravine, and wooded areas. The Sandy Springs Department of Parks and Trees, with the help of volunteers, laid 1.2 miles of asphalt path in 1997 to connect the trails. A community center and playground were built-in 2002. In 2005, the Sandy Springs Recreation Department completed the construction of softball and baseball fields with irrigation systems, a concession stand, and restrooms. The Sandy Springs Recreation Department built the community building and playground in 2002.

The plan is to build on the former parking lot (see pic at left) of Abernathy Greenway Park in Sandy Springs, Atlanta. The park is located on the East-West portion of Northside Drive/Roswell Road – there is a large grassy area to the West, Brookhaven Park to the South (which is also a large grassy area) and the park is the only green space for the busy Roswell Road. It was a former parking lot, and the residents have been asking for a park for a long time.
One of the most mesmerizing parts of Sandy Springs is the large greenway that runs through the middle of town. It’s the perfect place to relax, walk and play a few games of soccer, tennis, or basketball. And with all the construction going on along the way, it’s easy to be impressed by the beauty of the park. A community park is known for its green space and active programs.
The park is open daily from dawn to dusk for picnicking or sports activities such as soccer, lawn bowling, hiking, and biking. The park also provides shelter for picnickers, playground equipment, and restrooms. The park is also home to a dog park, which is open from dawn to dusk.

The Park is 95 acres of Abernathy Greenway Park North in Sandy Springs, Atlanta, and is located adjacent to the Cumberland Mall, at the corner of Abernathy Road and Johnson Ferry Road. It is adjacent to the Cumberland Mall and close to the MARTA Cumberland Station.
The Park is in Atlanta’s Interim Park at the corner of Abernathy Road and Northside Drive. It’s just north of the Beltline and north of Candler Park. It was named after John Park, the city’s second mayor.
