The Buckhead post office is an impressive building. Designed by James Knox Taylor, Chief Architect of the U.S. Treasury and Architect of the Capitol, the building was completed in 1908. Built-in the Renaissance Revival style, the building is made of brick with limestone details. The building also features classical details such as a columned entry and pedimented dormers.
Though the building has been altered over the years, it retains much of its original character and serves as an example of early 20th-century federal architecture. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the spring of 1996.
