The history of Lenox, Atlanta began in the 1870s with the arrival of Lorenzo Dow Turner, a Confederate veteran, and attorney. Turner developed many of the area’s first subdivisions, including Lenox Park, which he named after his wife, Lenora. He helped establish the first post office, built the first general store, and organized the area’s first school and Masonic lodge.

Lenox, Atlanta was named one of the top 100 shopping centers in North America by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). It was ranked number one in the State of Georgia, and number two in the Southeast.
