Doraville, Georgia, is located about 20 miles north of Atlanta and is home to approximately 55,000 people. The city was first settled in 1828 and is named after a Native American chief named Dora. Today, the city is home to three Fortune 500 companies: Coca-Cola, Comcast, and NCR. The city’s largest employers are Perimeter Mall, Gwinnett Medical Center, and the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Doraville is the largest city in Dekalb County, Georgia, and part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Its population was 77,500 at the 2010 census, making it Georgia’s 72nd largest city. It is the largest city entirely within DeKalb County.
When we think of Atlanta, we usually think of places like Buckhead or Midtown. But the City of Doraville, GA is a gem. We visited the area on a sunny October afternoon and were amazed at the beautiful scenery and great shopping. Sights include a park with a lake and boating, a great “grocery store” and lots of restaurants. The Atlanta History Center is also in the area, making this a great place to visit.
Doraville, Georgia is the economic hub of DeKalb County, and it’s home to over 100 businesses. The city is especially known for its two colleges, Decatur Technical College and DeKalb Technical College. Built-in 1920, the Doraville Town Center is the oldest shopping center in the city, and it is still the first stop for many travelers. The city is home to the Atlanta Braves, who play their games at Turner Field, as well as numerous chain restaurants, local shops, and an abundance of suburban-style homes.
The mayor of Doraville, Georgia, is considering a proposal that would install a statue of a giant inflatable gentleman to commemorate a historic train station.
Since the early 1960s, Doraville has been of the fastest-growing places in Georgia. In 1980, the town’s population was around 12,000 people. Today, the population is around 40,000, and the town is the home of the Atlanta Braves.
In the US, Doraville, Georgia is the most densely populated community in the state of Georgia. That’s not a surprise when you count its population at 8,197 based on the 2010 census.
The economy of Doraville, Georgia isn’t bad at all. The fact that it’s the last town in the United States to remain afloat is a testament to its stability. The only two things you should worry about are President Donald Trump and the weather.
