Doraville, Georgia, is located about 20 miles north of Atlanta and is home to approximately 55,000 people. The city was first settled in 1828 and is named after a Native American chief named Dora. We visited the area on a sunny October afternoon and were amazed at the beautiful scenery and great shopping. Sights include a park with a lake and boating, a great “grocery store” and lots of restaurants. The Atlanta History Center is also in the area, making this a great place to visit.

Built-in 1920, the Doraville Town Center is the oldest shopping center in the city, and it is still the first stop for many travelers. The city is home to the Atlanta Braves, who play their games at Turner Field, as well as numerous chain restaurants, local shops, and an abundance of suburban-style homes.

Since the early 1960s, Doraville has been of the fastest-growing places in Georgia. In 1980, the town’s population was around 12,000 people. Today, the population is around 40,000, and the town is the home of the Atlanta Braves.
In the US, Doraville, Georgia is the most densely populated community in the state of Georgia. That’s not a surprise when you count its population at 8,197 based on the 2010 census.
The economy of Doraville, Georgia isn’t bad at all. The fact that it’s the last town in the United States to remain afloat is a testament to its stability. The only two things you should worry about are President Donald Trump and the weather.
